Pricing Rundown - How much does AMD's Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT cost

How much do AMD’s newest GPUs cost on day-1?

AMD has officially launched their new Radeon RX 7700 XT and Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics cards, filling in the gap between their low-end and high-end RDNA 3 GPU lineups.

We have already reviewed several of these new RDNA 3 graphics cards, and now we are looking at the UK pricing of these new Radeon GPUs, just to see how these prices compare with AMD’s recommended retail prices (RRPs).

In the UK, AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT graphics cards are shipping with MSRP prices of £429.99 and £479.99 respectively, and the good news is that AMD’s latest GPUs are available at these prices, though more premium models are carrying higher prices.

AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT

AMD’s RX 7700 XT has an MSRP of £429.99, which is £50 less than AMD’s more powerful RX 7800 XT. This gives AMD’s partners little space to create premium RX 7700 XT models if they want to stay below the RX 7800 XT’s baseline price of £479.99. We have even found some instances where premium RX 7700 XT GPUs cost more than baseline RX 7800 XT models. Our advice, is that you should buy a baseline RX 7800 XT over a premium RX 7700 XT, as AMD’s RX 7800 XT will give you the best performance for your pound.

With 4GB of additional GDDR6 memory, a memory clock speed increase, additional Infinity Cache, and more Compute Units (CUs), it is easy to see why even a baseline RX 7800 XT is preferable to a premium RX 7700 XT model. That said, RX 7700 XT pricing could change over time to make these premium RX 7700 XT models more attractive.

While AMD’s RX 7800 XT is available for £479.99 in the UK, most of the GPUs that we found has prices that are close to or above £500. There is even one model that costs north of £580 at multiple retailers, which is a big premium considering this GPU;s standard pricing.

The good news is that AMD’s RX 7800 XT is available to purchase for under £500 at several retailers, though it is strange to see only three brands in stock at the UK’s most popular GPU retailers.

With the release of their RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT, AMD are bringing some much needed competition into the mid-range GPU market, offering more VRAM than Nvidia’s competing products while also launching with attractive prices. Today, most RX 4070 GPUs cost over £560, giving the Radeon RX 7800 XT a distinct pricing advantage, especially if you manage to grab this GPU at MSRP.
