Intel are readying for an episode of Xeon refresh and heavy price drops come Q3, 07. AMD hasn't even officially launched its Barcelona quad-core processors, and yet the price drops have apparently appeared in Intel's latest roadmap.
Typically, heavy price cuts are designed to make the alternative product less appealing from a pricing perspective; behaviour that we've seen AMD exhibit in the face of Inte's Core2 architecture for the desktop. It makes you think just how good AMD's K8L architecture really is.
