The last socket 775 CPU?

Intel Q9505 Box LabelIntel have yet again released a quad core processor based on the "old" socket - LGA775. The Q9505 (sSpec: SLGYY) adds to the existing range of Yorkfield based quad core processors. It has a clock speed of 2.83GHz and a front side bus of 1333Mhz, matching the Q9550.

However, with only half the cache of the Q9550, at 6MB, this is where the difference lies. The processor has gone on sale in Japan for 22,700 JPY and is expected in the USA at around $210. Intel's website also lists a 65W TDP part under the Q9505S name, much like the Q9550S.

Mul.
Honestly, it needs to be cheaper. A $210 price tag places the processor $20 dearer than the Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition and with a 366MHz clock speed deficit and having only half of the Yorkfield's 12mb L2 cache enabled, it surely cannot compete. More choice can only be good for existing LGA775 users however.

Same with nVidia.

Anyways, I feel they are well and truly milking it out trying to get every last spec of money possible. A better price would have made it more delish. :p

Probably Yorkfields that failed a memory test :p

Ala Phenoms that failed a core test.

Personal theory btw.

Q9450 is one heck of a cpu btw. Guess sales of Q8200 weren't too good.
