Asus

Being one of the first motherboard released on to the market touting 'Conroe' compatibility, the Asus P5W DH was an instant 'must-buy' for overclockers.

However, little did people know that the BIOS flashed on to the retail P5W's was only fully compatible with the ES (Engineering Sample) versions of the Conroe, and not the retail versions that most of us will be purchasing.

There have been several threads in various forums around the internet telling P5W DH owners that they need to 'hot-flash' their motherboards or use another LGA775 chip in the motherboard to get the latest BIOS installed, however this is not the case...

After a recent chat with Asus, we have been told that the P5W DH board WILL boot with the retail Conroe's (but may display an error message), and will allow you to update to the latest BIOS version without any problems.

For many of us, BIOS flashing can be a pain in the backside, especially if you don't even have a floppy disk drive! So we've come up with a bootable CD that you can download from HERE.

You'll need to burn the ISO file to a blank CD using a program that supports ISO files, and then boot from the CD on your P5W DH machine. For more assistance, please post on our forums.

Hey, I need to a desktop session recorder, you know something that can record every action on your desktop, but I would like it to be freeware, I heard about one the other day and haven't been able to find it. Can anyone help me out?
