Damn Cybermaniac posting about Audio. Picked up some pwnage speakers from a mate who was sellnig. Also sold me an AMP and CD player. The Speakers are Gale Floor Standers (around £200 new), the AMP is Sherwood RD-6106R (5.1 DTS/Dolby AMP - £200 new) and the CD player is Cambridge Audio CD5 (unsure of price. Got it all for £100

AMP and CD player have to go underneath the printer as I'm out of space (and there's LOADS of boxes next to them 'cause I've got reviews to do)

That's a great sound system you've put together, it sure wipes the floor with my setup. Bet you're not allowed to turn the volume up by much though :p :).

Just out of interest... if putting together a sound system and an LCD for games+movies usage, would you budget far more for the visual side or nearer 50% audio / 50% visual?

Well audio is important if it's an audio setup. For good sound you need a lot of money. I would budget at least £500 speakers, £300 AMP (not inc CD player) and then a decent TFT...whatever you feel is best for you. I'd go for a Dell 2407 if I could afford it

I have a set from Argos but at the moment can't afford to replace them. I will be slowly replacing them with high-end stuff....but need a car more right now ;)

The speakers are hooked up right now. Sounds simply awesome, top quality sound am very very impressed. £100 very very well spent :D
