We reported a while ago, that AMD's hex-core processor range, based on their Istanbul Server range, would be coming soon. Today we can confirm they will be coming in 2010, and are aimed to rival Intel's Gulftown, also a hex-core processor range.
The Thuban CPUs will be based on the 45nm process, and also be backwards compatible with current AM2+/AM3 motherboards, due to it's integrated memory controller.
The new CPUs will feature 3MB of L2 Cache and 6MB of L3 Cache, although AMD tell us to expect lower clock speeds than the current quad cores. This is rumoured to be down to temperatures, although not confirmed yet. As we have seen over the years though, at first we had high clocked dual cores, then 'slower' quad cores, which have increased over time, maybe the hex-core CPUs will follow the trend eventually?
Aimed to go head to head with Intel's Gulftown, it will be an interesting battle, although the backwards compatibility of AMD's range might give them a significant lead! Discuss in our Forums.

Starting to die! I only got it last year in March :'( I've got a 8600GT lying round so I'll try that... just have to find it.

Well it seems you were right. So far it runs perfectly. Is it possible that it's a problem with the PSU or is it the GPU?

I hate to do this but... *bump*
What PSU have you got and what graphics card. If the PSU is not supplying the power, the system would generally just reboot. You have reloaded the drivers (sound and graphics) to be on the safe side.
if could be the psu not suplying enough power mabey
this 7800gtx im using atm (temp card i had laying around) is on its last legs, flickers/kicks me out of games sometimes like it can be ok with cod2 then work fine with cod 4, then the next day play up with cod 2 but work with cod 4.
you could try to get an rma on your card and then if the new card still plays up it will probably be your psu. i cant realy think of anything else it might be.

I would say it may well be a problem with the PSU, as it is only 450W (even if it is a decent manufacturer). If you want, you could try RMAing (Return manufacturers authorisation a fancy tech name of saying send it back for repair or replacement)
Ahh ok, I think I'll probably just get a new PSU afterall I have been eyeing up the Corsair HX 750W which should be plenty. Thanks for the help guys :)
Its a very nice PSU, I bought my Dad one, and now I'm really jealous :(
Actually would I be better off getting a HX650? It's £23 cheaper.
