Well, as we already knew, this will utilize DDR2, so no surprise there. Now we learn have that, while it is very similar to current socket 940, it is not backwardly compatible. Finally, we have some bad news. The heatsink bracket for this new socket has been greatly changed. Looks like current heatsinks and such out there will most likely not be compatible.

On another hand, looks like AMD is pushing the release to be before June 30th of this year.

Well if its fucking up your PC I don't see why not. You could send them the e-mail from DFI veryfying that.

well i've just sent them OC an email to tell them about the problem. There is only three PSU they say to use and one of them i got rid of.

dont listne to dfi, they always blame the psu when their boards mess up.

not much i can do at the minute as i want a working PC for once :(

edit: OC have said that they will RMA the PSU and will replace it with Enermax Noisetaker 535W EG565AX-VE(W) SFMA ATX2.0 SLI Compliant PSU, but i've checked and that is much cheaper then i have paid for the seasonic and they have not said about me getting any money back

I spent ages with random restarts, things got gradually worse until i couldn't even make it into windows. Turned out a big blob of solder was shorting against my case where i'd missed one of the screws putting the motherboard in.
So yeah, you could try running your comp with the mb outside the case if yr at your wits end. Worth it as a last result before sending the board back.
