AMD Releases 45W Desktop CPUs

AMD has tweaked the design of their Athlon X2, Athlon, and Sempron processors, allowing them to release a set of processors that have a mere 45W power consumption.  This will allow not only lower power usage but also less heat output and thus quieter operation.  AMD believes that these new processors will allow computers to be built that meet and exceed the new system requirements from the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Version 4 computer specification.

Don't agree with:

Lower CAS latencies typically deliver better performance — even when a module's speed is slower

Every review I've ever seen shows higher frequency sticks with loser timings out perform lower frequency sticks with tighter timings in everything; latency, bandwidth and games...
