Cooling specialist Koolance has just taken the wraps off its newest fan, and this one is a very powerful piece of cooling equipment. Called FAN-12038HBK-184, the 120mm case fan has been designed to generate massive airflow over the system it is cooling and literally blow away any heat that is generated.
The new fan from Koolance is equipped with a dual-ball bearing. The 120mm blades run at a fast 4000 RPM to generate airflow at a staggering 183.5 CFM (cubic feet per minute). This is more or less double of what most other fans of this size are presently capable of generating. The fan should definitely be of interest to extreme gamers and high-end system makers who need above-normal cooling for their rigs.
On the downside however, is the sound of the fan. In trying to generate so much air, the fan also makes up to 59 dBA of noise. The figures are again higher than most fans, and even high end graphics cards such as the GeForce GTX 570 or the Radeon HD 6970 at full load.
The FAN-12038HBK-184 fan has been decently priced by Koolance at $11.99, but would be a great bundle if it were to be clubbed with some top quality noise-cancelling headphones.
