X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-e arrives
Creative' X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-e card has finally arrived.
| ...although it’s only an OEM card so far as it doesn’t come in a retail box. It looks rather basic with support for 7.1-channel analogue outputs and optical S/PDIF in and out. This card doesn’t seem to have support for any of the upgrade options that the current X-Fi cards have and the audio processor looks like it comes from the newer entry level cards. The blue PCB also makes it look more like he entry level products, as the higher end cards are using a black PCB. It also seems to lack support for some of the more advanced audio features, again akin with the lower end models. Interestingly it seems to have a standard connector for case mounted audio connectors, so it would be easy to use this card with the front audio connectors on your case. At US$65, it is priced quite reasonable and it ships with Windows Vista drivers |

Nice one fraggles. Gotta loller at the end picture :wavey:
Thx Ty and Jim :)
Awesome little guide Fraggles. You have such a friendly looking face and the smile is so refreshing to see at the end of a hard day.
I've heard many complaints from friends trying to install Logitech web cams. They get a message when starting the camera saying that the camera is not present or the camera is already in use. I suspect some sort of corrupted installation. Could this approach also work on those systems (running Windows XP)?

Hey guys,
I did these steps:
1) Plug cam into the PC
2) did the steps with Universal Extractor for x86_xp and x64_xp drivers
3) After the detection of the cam, tried refresh the driver over the device manager with the extracted x86_xp. But he means, that in the folder werent the right drivers. So I did the refresh with x64_xp drivers.
4) After that reboot and testing with Skype. Works great! After this try with Windows Live Messenger, and the messenger hung :(
5) Back with a ghost-image to step 1
6) Tried the same steps, but after the driver-refresh with the x64_xp drivers installation of the Logitech software
7) After a reboot test with Skype, and it works fine.
8) After that test with Windows Live Messenger. Result in a hang of the Messenger software :(
At the moment runs the cam with microsoft-drivers. Sound works ok, but da video is very crappy :(
I dont know what to do, any tips for me?
Thanx
Eduard

FragTek, thanks to you I now have a working webcam. A friend gave it to me because she had no use for it, but Logitech had no instructions on how to make it work on Windows Server 2003.
You made it look rather easy, although it would have taken me days of fooling around to figure that out.
Thanks,
David

step 6 i saw *8* subdirectories. following the instructions above failed, but when i copied the contents of ALL the subdirectories it worked. my mileage DID vary! LoL
also, the links to the screen images in the steps are all broken.
