Major manufacturers, especially in the console world, have a vested interest in making sure you're brainwashed into believing that great graphics make a great game, and poor graphics don't. After all, they have consoles to sell. The retro area was one of the most popular parts of the whole show. If you think Goldeneye isn't awesome then we'll have to go outside and have a quiet discussion.

Let's finish up with a couple of cases that perfectly encapsulate the trend towards smaller, but still massively powerful, systems. The only limit is your imagination. And finances, although that isn't quite as snappy to finish on.
