These specs remian unconfirmed and come from Videocardz.

The Radeon R9 285 is in layman's terms a R9 270X sized core, with R9 280 or above performance. This card allegedly uses the new AMD Tonga Pro GPU core, meaning that a R9 285X could later arise with the Tongo XT core if other core naming schemes are anything to go by. One other thing is that the R9 285 is comparatively small compared to current R9 280 or 280X cards, so it should be ideal for smaller/mini PC use. Have a look at the leaked pictures below.

Radeon R9 285 has 2GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256b interface. That’s all we know for certain. The core clock is reported to be 918 MHz with a memory clock of 1375 MHz (5500 MHz effective), that said we have 176 GB/s bandwidth. We know the full Tonga chip has the same number of unified cores as the Tahiti core, the R9 270X GPU with 2048 cores, the only question is, how many cores will R9 285 have?

All AIB cards  pictured have the same display output configuration: two DVIs, one HDMI and one DisplayPort.

The fact that first AIB cards are starting to pop up means that the R9 285 launch should happen sometime soon, likely in the next two or three weeks.

I just knew it was going to happen, I've been talking about a card like this that 's like the 7870 xt with the Tahiti chip, and it has arrived, just guessing< I think it will be priced around the £150 mark..Quote

Not a fan of any of those shroud designs, however, I like seeing AMD add more options. As mentioned above, this is a similar move as bringing the 7870 Tahiti LE out and if the performance/price levels are the same as that card then it should be a very successful addition to the AMD line up.Quote
