Everybody in eagerly awaiting the release of Intel's rapidly approaching launch of their new enthusiast grade CPU. Haswell-E has been shown in many leaks, but until recently ASUS's motherboard have been a mystery, we have seen their X99 Deluxe motherboard on Monday. This time we have the Republic of Gamers Rampage series X99 motherboard to show you!

ASUS X99 Rampage V Extreme Revealed!

This new motherboard is an ATX form factor board, with the now characteristic color scheme of all modern Republic of Gamers series motherboards. The LGA 2011-3 CPU socket is surrounded by eight memory slots for up to 64GB of DDR4 memory. This Asus board will certainly love large SLI and Crossfire configurations with five PCI Express 3.0 in full length and will also include a single PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot.

There are eight SATA 6.0 Gbps, 12 if you include the SATA ports on the dual SATA Express ports. In addition, there is Intel Thunderbolt, PS / 2 for mouse and keyboard, gigabit networking, 802.11ac wireless networking and Bluetooth 4.0. The audio circuit SupremeFX assists with 7.1-channel digital output and headphone amplifier. The images also reveal that the ASUS remote module OC Panel is included in the package.

Yep without a doubt mate, and that bloody OC panel, did anyone actually like it, or instal it, the first time around.Quote

I think the IO shield cover is a heat sink also, there is a great ruddy heat pipe connecting them. But at £450-£500 to rich for my blood.Quote

X99 is becoming so varied in motherboard designs I don't see why anyone would go for this based on aesthetics. Maybe thats just me though idk.Quote

Hi

I like it, definitely a huge chassis needed like a caselabs case or Obsidian 900D to make use of that board. I don't run that many drives to need all the Sata ports. I like the looks and envision this as a mighty centerpiece of someones build.

I did Z97 so I don't know if I will get into X99 builds unless I find a pile of money somewhere. Doing something other than full out no compromise build with this MB seems like a waste to me.

i dont see why the rampage extreme boards are classed as a gaming boards they are way to much of a board just to play games onQuote

Is anybody else concerned about the width for that M.2 slot on the side? The length seems sufficient, and I like that it's not perpendicular to the board like the Deluxe, but the width seems like it might be tight.Quote

They are build for people that have endless money.

Also for sake of ultimate fps you can get. Quote

This looks awesome! It's great to see the Rampage being brought into line with the styling of the Maximus boards and I think it's a very striking job with just the right amount of bling.

I will most likely never own one but I hope to see some magnificent builds using it.

I'm surprised, that they didn't bring the dual colour pcb over from the Hero, that was one of the sexiest things about the last range of ROG boards.Quote

I like it, but a few games, lightroom, word and the odd powerpoint creation don't really justify that sort of expenditure. whilst I'm in between rigs the pentium anniversary is doing everything I actually need from a PC perfectly fine. A 4 core I7 broadwell for Elite is probably the limit for me really.Quote

I don't know why they bother with that OC panel thingy. It'll be good to see TTL chuck it around when it comes to the inevitable unboxing and review.Quote

Love the look and the colour oddly i'm not usually for all the RED/Black stuff but I think this might warrant a theme change in my RIG

i'm practically nursing a semi just looking at itQuote

(MSI bias aside) I think it looks OK but not great. Perhaps one of the worse looking Rampage boards in years.Quote

That loaded up with a bunch of EKWB original CSQ Clean blocks will look amazing. I'm surprised it's only an ATX the RIVE and R4BE were both E-ATX.

If you put blocks on the board that will no longer be an issue as you'll cut that heat pipe off just like I did with my R4BE.Quote

I could be wrong, but the form factor looks E-ATX to me ... same as the good 'ol Rampage IV.Quote

I would like to see the Rampage V Formula with something like the ROG Armor from the Maximus series. Even I dreamed about the Rampage with that extra...

At this time, the one that I really like is the X99 Deluxe, second the Rampage and third the Maximus vii Formula with Devils Canyon.Quote

I doubt we'll see the Rampage line get the Armor as that is one of the selling points of the Maximus series.Quote

In my opinion this will be a great board again from the ROG series but the design is not so good as the earlyer generation of Rampage boards. It uses too much red and i can't feel the premium quality on it.... Quote

Hey! that's a really good idea! but i don't have the skills to do that , that's why i hoped that armor to be included with the stock package or even as an accessory.Quote

I would like to see if there is a performance difference between the deluxe and this, as aesthetically, I actually prefer the deluxe over the rampage due to the heat IO cover on the x99 running over and covering up the sound board, which would have been nice to see on the rampage tooQuote

So, where are these things for sale? Looks like all the east coast Microcenter locations have the x99 Deluxe, but not the Rampage. Anybody know who has the Rampage today?Quote
