ASUS X99 Deluxe Revealed!

After a long silence and a few leaks we finally have an ASUS X99 motherboard to look at and my goodness it was worth the wait. I bet TTL will faint when he gets a look at this!

ASUS X99 Deluxe!

ASUS X99 Deluxe Revealed!  ASUS X99 Deluxe Revealed!

From what we can see in the pictures above, we can expect everything associated with today's high end computing needs, 8 DDR4 slots, SATA express, High end audio components, on-board on/off switches and plenty of PCI-E slots. The only thing I do not see here is an M.2 slot?

The most notable thing about this new motherboard is certainly it's looks, with it's stunning black and white theme i can see this taking the interest of many people, especially a certain reviewer we all know.

At present this picture is all we have, so everyone who want's to know pricing and availability will have to wait.

Sexy!!! I dare say that's the board TTL spoke of to take up residence in ORCA unless the Rampage V is absolutely ballistic!Quote

That motherboard is awesome. I wish i had money so I can build my first pc (for me, personal use). All I have is a laptop...
Maybe instead of going Z97, X99 is pretty awesome to have, especially because of the white/black colour scheme. (no red/black, it is too common)Quote

I believe the M.2 slot is perpendicular and is just below the 24pin. I also believe it's a PCIe 3.0 x 4.Quote

The M.2 slot is below the PSU connector, as H20Newb said. Some days ago I downloaded the manual and on page VIII indicates that have "1 x M.2 socket 3 with vertical M key design, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (PCIE mode only).". This "M Key racket" is represented on page xiv.

This motherboard is a real beauty, I can see multiple new rigs with black and white instead of the almost standard red (mine included). In my case, i'm waiting for the Rampage Formula, but this one is a solid contender. Just need the price, benchmarks and availability.Quote

Nice looking motherboard but you are going to pay more with Asus before they even make it look this good. I will stick with buying Gigabyte as I get bells and whistles in terms of features at a very affordable price. Also I have to say that Star Wars is less and less interesting to me over the years so if that was different then maybe I would be more in love with this board and pay a premium for looks.Quote

A lot of people wrote it's black and white, but to me it actualy looks more like silver grey. Especially when you look at the image on the box.Quote

Nice board. And finally not black and red or black and gold.... M.2 slot is maybe will available like ROG Formula with an extension card. But if you got an extension card maybe i would use a PCIe-4× SSD insted of M.2.Quote

Its white with silver lines through it.

Edit: The bottom right part is white on top, silver on the bottom.
Edit: It looks like the rest of it smoothly blends from white to silver actually. O.oQuote

There's 5 full length PCI-E slots

So for me its going to be:
1x GTX 780TI (physix card)
2 x titan Z in sli (4 gpus in total)
2 x 295 x2 (4 gpus in total)

Thats 9 gpus in totalQuote

Hehe I was just having a lol with you guys I think the PCIe layout will probably suffice for most users at this price point or should I say standard end of X99. I like the amount of full slots making it very versatile for 2 card setups but losing the slot at the top is going to be compromising at times for triple card setups where you may want a sound or raid card which tbf for a 4k rig would be a big consideration for me.

It does look like a mighty fine motherboard and even more so IRL i'm sure. I like the compromise between full armor and a totally empty board, it looks much better than a sabertooth IMO. I'm excited to see what else Asus have in store for us!

Looks amazing, but it is going to cost a metric butt-ton, especially when you consider DDR4 prices, etc. as sixdean saidQuote
